Anne Heche: Actress 'critically hurt' after car crashes into house and bursts into flames

  • American actress Anne Heche has reportedly been critically injured after her car crashed into a house in Los Angeles and burst into flames.
  • On a residential street in Mar Vista, NBCLA reports that the driver was travelling at a high speed when the blue Mini Cooper slammed into a two-story home, ploughing 30 feet into the ground.
  • Authorities in his hometown say he was severely burned, according to local news reports.
  • Officers believe the car may have hit a kerb and was 2ft off the ground when it crashed through the front of the house.
  • It was later revealed that Heche had been driving the same vehicle that was later pictured with extensive damage.

It took 59 firefighters 65 minutes to access, contain, and completely extinguish the stubborn flames within the heavily damaged structure after the crash.

A woman was discovered inside the vehicle, and she was transported to a local hospital, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Homeowner was uninjured despite the building's current state of "uninhabitability."

Heche is well-known for her roles in films such as Psycho, Donnie Brasco, and Cedar Rapids. She was previously romantically linked to Ellen DeGeneres for a period of time between 1997 and 2000.


After a car accident on Friday, August 5, in Los Angeles, it was reported that actress Anne Heche was rushed to the hospital. Anne's car slammed into a house, igniting a blaze. Her condition has been described as critical following extensive burns. The 53-year-old actress is said to have been driving a blue Mini Cooper. Before crashing into a Los Angeles house, she allegedly rammed her car into the garage of an apartment complex.

"The driver (Anne Heche) was travelling at a high rate of speed when she ran off the road and collided with a residence," LAPD Public Information Officer Jeff Lee told CNN.

  • According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, a collision caused the fire and engulfed the vehicle in flames, which resulted in burn injuries to Anne Heche. LAFD paramedics transported her to a nearby hospital in critical condition. To put out the blaze completely, it took the firefighters more than an hour of effort from them.
  • LOS ANGELES - In the wake of a fiery crash in Mar Vista, actress Anne Heche has been identified as the lone driver.
  • About an hour before 11 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to the 1800 block of South Wal grove Avenue.
  • There was a massive fire in the house after the car, a 2020 Mini Copper, smashed through the front door. In less than an hour, the flames had been extinguished and the car had been rescued from the wreckage.

Heche was rescued and taken to the hospital in a critical condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Heche appears to be struggling to get out of the gurney in images obtained by SkyFOX.
